Where to Go Hiking
Looking to hike the best trails and see beautiful waterfalls? Discover the Best Hiking Trails and Waterfalls to Explore. I am a nature lover and love taking photographs when I am out. I created a bucket list of trails and waterfalls that I wanted to explore. Before going hiking, you should make sure you have the proper footwear.
Some trails may be rocky or slippery. You want to make safety your priority. Bring water, a small snack, bug spray, and sunblock if needed. Remember when visiting the woods to leave no trace that you were there. Clean up after yourself.
Keep the Trails Clean!
You should check online to see if there is an opening or closing time and check the trails to see how far they are before you start your hike. Some waterfalls have a fee, something I found out when I went to Bushkill Falls. Many hiking trails will not have bathrooms. I suggest checking local places in the area with restrooms.
Getting out into nature and away from the distractions of the city is a great way to clear your mind and relax. On my visit to the following places, the scenery and sounds were so peaceful. I hike throughout the year. The weather is not a problem for me unless it’s raining. Be sure to wear proper clothing according to the weather.
All the trails are kid and pet-friendly and great for beginner hikers. When leaving the woods, you should take off all your clothes, make sure you have no bugs or ticks on you, and shower. Another way to make sure you don’t have bugs lingering on your clothes is to place them in a hot dryer. Have fun exploring the following sites!

Schooley’s Mountain
Schooley’s Mountain County Park is named for the Schooley family, who were considerable proprietors of land in the area, circa 1700. In October of 1969, the Morris County Park Commission acquired the land from the YMCA of Morristown. Schooley’s Mountain County Park was dedicated and opened to the public in 1974.
The Morris County Park Commission purchased the Albano and Claremont tracts in 1991. The 236-acre Claremont tract lies in Long Valley and is comprised of rich agricultural lands and riverine wetlands. The site provides access to the South Branch of the Raritan, one of the highest-quality freshwater fisheries in New Jersey.

[…] I am older now and still remember this; it brings a smile to my face. A child of innocence with an imagination running wild. We lived at the bottom of the city; the trees to nowhere, so I believe were the neighboring towns of South Orange/West Orange. The treetops I saw across the horizon were South Mountain Reservation and Eagle Rock Reservation. Both great places to go hiking. […]
