I had the pleasure to host my first Vision Board party. I’m excited to share all the great tools that helped me manifest my goals and dreams. With Spring here I have new goals to accomplish and I’m ready to share them with others. We set goals and either you follow them or they get forgotten. I’m not perfect and following goals for me is a struggle. Life can get busy and trying to find time can be hard but we can do it.

Every January a new list of New Years Resolutions get made and by March those goals are forgotten. I read some great books that helped me list and prioritize goals I made. Some will know of these books and some may never heard of them. With the digital age most or all of these books are free via Youtube. You can also do a solo Vision Board without a group of people. Follow the steps that I will list. Men can also do a vision board minus the arts and crafts. Get a notebook and write down your goals and follow the same steps below. Vision Boards are great for kids as well.

My seven year old daughter made a vision board and she loved cutting out her prints outs and telling me what her goals were. It was a great and productive arts and crafts evening. It put a smile on my face to see a child so young have goals and know what she want.

I grew up less fortunate, was a teenage mother and took on many jobs as a single mom to support my daughter. My main job was working in a dental office. I always wanted my own business, but didn’t know what I wanted to do. People gave me suggestions but it was their dreams and not mine. All the jobs I took on were for extra income but not a passion of mine. Photography was a hobby that I loved. Nature and the outdoors was

Three years ago I went to a seminar. There was a motivational speaker on the stage telling his story. It was a story most of us lived. It was the story I just shared. I felt like the speaker was looking at me and I was the only one in the room he was talking too. He was giving the speech about doing what you loved and if you wasn’t happy to leave. Finding your passion. We all have a gift something that we are good at that we never put to use. He said you don’t have to feel stuck somewhere.

It don’t matter how old you are we can change our destiny. I was given some motivational books that inspired me and I felt like I could finally pursue what I wanted. I kept a journal. I wrote down the things I wanted in life and what I wanted in a new job. I received everything I asked for. I became a walking motivational speaker, I know I annoyed some people with my Happy go get it speech but I believe everyone can accomplish their goals if they stick to it.

Do what you Love Vision Board
I knew I wanted to pursue photography, and that’s what I was going to do. I just needed to find the time. I went on Amazon and purchased a professional camera and made it a goal to get out and take more photos. I made a list of places I wanted to visit and crossed them off my list. I was happy and my pictures were getting recognized by people. I even got courage and entered photography contests. I became a Google Guide, I wasn’t getting paid by Google but people were looking at my photos, responding to reviews I gave. That made me happy and thought I would start a blog. I wanted people to know about all the great places to visit and not break the bank doing it. All those years and my passion was right in front of my face. I’m older and wiser now and I’m not mad that I’m starting a little late. I have gained experience and happy to starting a new chapter in my life.

Make it Happen
I recently wrote down some new goals and was taking it back to the beginning. I decided to share this and decided to host a Vision Board Party. I want to help others to get started with thinking of what they want, goals they have and being able to complete them. The following books helped me prioritize and learn the keys to success. Many of these books are at the library, book store or you can listen to them on YouTube.

  • The Secret Rhonda Byrne
  • The Science to Getting Rich Wallace D. Wattles
  • The Essence of Success Earl Nightingale
  • The Power of Habit Charles Duhigg
  • Eat That Frog! 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastination and Getting More Done Brian Tracy

Make a Guest List

I made all my invites and print outs on Decide where you will host your party and will there be enough space to accommodate your guest. I invited over 20 guests because I knew half of the list would show. (I don’t advise this unless you have the room for the amount of people you’re inviting) I tried to decide what day and time would be best for people to gather. I chose the third Saturday of the month from 4pm-8pm. I went through my list of contacts and my Facebook friends page. I made a Facebook Event page to keep the guests informed of the upcoming party and some fun quotes and memes to keep the invitees engaged.

Vision Board Supplies

I purchased supplies from the Dollar Store (Dollar Tree), which I found cool decorations for my daughter Vision Board. Walmart had a great selection of crafts as well.

  • Foam Poster Board
  • Glue Sticks for Guests (I prefer Elmer’s glue stick)
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Magazines (Cut out words or images)
  • Motivational Print Outs ( Send me your email for free adult and children motivational print outs)
  • Glitter Glue (optional)

Party Appetizers

Be aware of your guest allergies. I prepared cheese, olives, chips and dip. I asked guest to bring wine or a dessert and had baked lasagna and salad. For drinks I had water, seltzer, ginger ale and wine. Stay away from greasy foods since you will be cutting and pasting with your boards. I had my guests eat before we started. The magazines and poster boards took up the space so you don’t want food spilling over.

Vision Board Set Up

I had guest introduce themselves. I had each person tell everyone what they did for a living and what goals they had. As guest arrived I had them do the same. Some had to work so I had people come and go during the night. I handed out a Goals Worksheet so the guests knew where they should start: Family Goals, Inspirational Word for 2019, Financial Goals, Career Goals and Physical Goals. (Send email for Goal Worksheet)

  • Make sure you have enough space for your boards and comfortable seating for guests
  • Remind guests what a Vision Board is and how to create one.
  • If your doing you Vision Board alone complete your goal worksheet and visualize what have written down. Picture yourself acting on your goals and completing them.
  • Go through your magazines and cut out images or inspirational quotes. Cut out your vision board quotes that match with what you want to achieve. Paste all your cut outs on your board.
  • Use Photo of yourself (optional)
  • Some may not finish their vision boards during the party. Let guests know it’s ok if you don’t finish. I asked guests to complete them at home and send me their pictures.
  • If guests finish their boards ask them to share them with the group
  • Take a Photo of your Vision Board and use it as a screen saver so you will be reminded of your goals.
  • Place your Vision Board somewhere you will see it everyday
  • Start with small goals that you want and cross them off once you complete them.
  • Don’t overwhelm yourself. Start with one goal on your list and give yourself a time when you want it completed. Use you phone to set an alarm for daily reminders.
