AUTUMN REBIRTH~Turning Over A New Leaf

FALL is a season of changes and to me, REBIRTH. Each year I go through a new transformation like the leaves on the trees. Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love watching the leaves turn from green into beautiful hues of reds, oranges, and yellow. Each year I get out and photograph as much as I can before the leaves fall and disappear into the wind. With Fall comes everything Pumpkin. Pumpkin spice cake, coffee, tea, candles and anything else you can think of. We think of Fall and with that comes the big Thanksgiving feasts and families coming together.

Fried Turkey, I never knew it would be this good… This year I was excited to fry a turkey for the first time. My first thoughts of frying a turkey, was the house or deck catching on fire. But after watching many videos of how to safely fry a turkey, I felt confident not to make the same mistakes people made previously. (My husband fried the turkey)The turkey looked so golden and was crispy just like I saw in photos and videos. It was very delicious, we marinated the turkey overnight with seasonings, Italian dressing  and apple juice for flavoring. After having the turkey fried I don’t think we’ll ever bake it again. Everyone who said they wasn’t a big fan of turkey, became a fan this year.

Before digging in to the many dishes that awaited our hungry stomachs, I wanted to say what I was thankful for. I wanted my family and friends who attended to know that it meant so much spend the holiday with my family. I was grateful for so much this year and this was our first Thanksgiving in our new home. I thought to myself, “this is where we will be making memories, watching our children grow and expand.” “This is where we will be making our family holiday traditions.”

Two years ago, I went to a motivational seminar that helped me become a better person and to believe in myself. Believing that if I asked I would receive. Believing in not giving up and having faith. And in the process of receiving being grateful and giving back. What you give out you will receive back, that was my new motto on life. So each year around this time (Fall), I create a new goal list. I don’t wait until January like everyone else to make their lists of resolutions that are so big that you don’t follow through. Instead once Fall comes to an end I seem to get inspired. It’s like a clock inside me that tics with an alarm of Ready, Set and Goal.

2018 was a year of many blessings from purchasing a new home, starting a new career, over coming fear, and my daughter welcoming her first child Brandon to our family.  Hearing the word grandma warms my heart each time and brings a smile to my face. This was a year of strength and determination and it has inspired me to do better in 2019. So as Fall will be coming to an end and Old man winter will be approaching, I have a new goal list to do better than I did this year. I encourage everyone to find time for themselves and their family. Set goals, try something new that you always wanted to do, and be grateful for the small things in life.

Here are a few ways to get started. I read a few books that I live by and also YouTube is a great source of FREE information.
